AWS re/Start is a free, cohort-based workforce development programme designed to help unemployed or underemployed individuals launch new careers in the cloud.
- No prior technology background is required.
- The programme is full-time and delivered by accredited instructors.
- Learners gain both technical and professional skills to succeed in entry to mid-level cloud roles.
To join the AWS re/Start programme, applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be unemployed or underemployed
- Be available for full-time training during the programme
- Be motivated to launch a career in cloud computing
Three-month AWS re/Start programme
South Africa is currently facing a shortage of AWS cloud resources, resulting in increased demand and longer wait times for organisations seeking to deploy cloud-based applications and services. Experts are calling for increased investment in cloud infrastructure and improvements to the supply chain to alleviate the AWS cloud resource shortage in South Africa and prevent similar challenges in the future!
AWS re/Start Foundational Programmes schedule:
- Cohort 1: 9 June – 29 August 2025 (Applications are now closed).
- Cohort 2: 26 June – 29 July 2025 (Applications are now closed).
- Cohort 3: 6 October – 26 December 2025 (Applications are now open).
